At Able City, we believe architecture is a catalyst for change. We’re not just designing buildings—we’re shaping healthier, more resilient, and more equitable communities. Every detail, from the first sketch to the final specification, plays a role in creating cities that honor people, place, and purpose. Joining our team means contributing to work that transforms design into impact and projects into lasting value.
We’re inviting a Specification & Construction Specialist to join us—not simply to write specs or track submittals, but to help realize projects that reflect our values and serve our communities.
This role is vital to ensuring that our designs become built environments that truly work—technically, socially, and environmentally. Through precision in specifications and care in construction administration, you’ll help turn ideas into places that improve how people live, work, and connect.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and coordinate specifications that uphold design intent, technical integrity, and long-term performance.
- Supporting Project Managers with construction administration processes—RFIs, submittals, and pun—keeping projects aligned and accountable.
- Collaborate across disciplines, bridging design and construction to ensure shared goals are achieved.
- Maintain clarity, organization, and consistency so that every detail supports project success.
- Contribute to projects that embody design excellence, sustainability, and community impact.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience with architectural specifications (MasterSpec, BSD Speclink, or similar).
- Knowledge of construction administration practices.
- Precision, clarity, and organizational strength.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to connect people and processes.
- A belief that architecture is about more than buildings—it’s about creating lasting value.
Why This Matters:
Every specification, every response, every detail in construction administration shapes not only a building, but the way people experience it for years to come. In this role, your expertise will directly contribute to projects that:
- Reflect a vision of cities that work for everyone.
- Strengthen communities.
- Advance environmental responsibility.
Why Able City:
Joining Able City means being part of a practice that is rethinking how architecture and urbanism serve society. We are architects, urbanists, and advocates committed to designing cities that are healthier, more resilient, and more equitable. Here, your work will be more than technical—it will carry forward a mission to build places where people and communities thrive.
If you are ready to bring your technical mastery to projects that honor people, place, and purpose—we’d love to meet you.
