Administrative Assistant

In order to achieve our shared value proposition in a sustainable manner, we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Administrative Assistant to strengthen our award-winning team and its culture and to be instrumental in keeping the firm’s business office processes.
Description
The Administration Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Chief Officer in charge of HR and Business Administration. They are primarily responsible for implementing the Officer’s strategies and processes related to our employee development programs, payroll and benefits packages, and Able City’s Commitments, as well as general office management of our headquarters in San Antonio.
Responsibilities
HR:
- Collect and distribute New Employee enrollment forms
- Implement adjustments to employee compensation and communicate to accounting firm
- Assist with 401K reporting and adjustments
Business:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial statements
- Assist in the electronic filing of sensitive financial information
- Assist in the renewal processes for insurance policies
- Assist in the creation of financial presentation for internal partner meetings
- Make deposits of payments
- Assist in accounts payable
- Assist in the execution of financial reporting (Quarterly Reports, Yearly Reports)
- Tracking and coordinating leases (printer, office space)
- American Express account, payment review, budgeting
- Prepare and maintain Property Rendition Forms per county
- Generating and transmitting financial reports to the marketing team
Office Management:
- Keep track of and purchase supplies for all company offices
- Process correspondence
- General office organization
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
- 5+ years proven accounting experience, ideally with a professional services company
- Strong understanding of banking processes
- Daily presence at our Downtown San Antonio office

Studio Director

Description
The Studio director is a senior leadership position providing knowledge and direction to all of our project managers. This position will be responsible for implementing our quality assurance processes and for developing designers and junior project managers. This position operates with a level of autonomy that requires discipline, integrity, excellent communication, and above all, a commitment to Able City’s shared value proposition.
Responsibilities
- Provides support and direction to less experienced project managers
- Assign work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is provided
- Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities
- Usually is tasked with the management of a limited number of projects
- Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications
- Participates in budget preparation and administration, monitors and controls expenditures
- Supports marketing and business development through fostering exiting and new client relationships
Skills
- Must be innovative, detail-oriented
- Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels and to resolve complaints
- Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management
- Ability to provide effective resource management in an environment with multiple projects with differing staffing needs and timelines

Architectural Designer/Urban Planner Level 3
Location: El Paso, TX

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate designer with planning experience to join our team and assist in the design and development of architectural projects that support “able cities” such as learning environments, civic spaces, historic buildings, sacred places, public transit facilities, and a variety of commercial and industrial facilities. We have a creative office culture centered around a commitment to learning from one another and providing mentorship, training, and professional development to all of our staff.
You will be asked to:
- Contribute to the development project design in coordination with design leadership
- Contribute to architectural design deliverables using various tools such as BIM modeling, renderings, videos, diagrams, sketching and narrative reports
- Develop design and construction documents with a high degree of autonomy in collaboration with the project team
- Research and report on design and construction materials and methods
- Assist PM’s in the administration of projects through all phases
- Attend project site meetings, coordinate Construction Administration Phase and develop field reports
- Contribute to planning projects as an entry level planning team member

Requirements:
- 6 yrs experience
- Planning education or experience is required
- License preferred
- BArch (5yr degree) and/or Master in Architecture
- Proficiency with BIM software and Adobe Creative Suite to develop design documents, 3D renderings and presentation graphics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with a strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Ability to work with a diverse team, be flexible and adapt to changing project requirements and schedules
- Ability to work at a variety of scales from the big picture to the detail-oriented
- A passion and commitment to the equitable and sustainable development of cities
- US citizen or US resident with permission to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 10 paid holidays, 10 days of paid leave and 5 days of sick leave, sustainability incentives for work commute, and a work-from-home allotment; a 401(k) program; and health coverage.
Salary Range (DOE): $56,000-$68,000
plus 100 % contributions to health insurance plan and access to 401k plan
